The Next Sphere Is Officially Setting Up Shop in This Global Theme Park Hub
If you've seen the viral, jaw-dropping videos of the glowing, giant eyeball dominating the Las Vegas skyline, you already know that the Sphere has completely reinvented live entertainment. From mind-melting concert residencies to hyper-immersive cinematic experiences, the futuristic venue has been at the top of every traveler's bucket list since it debuted.
Now, the groundbreaking venue is officially packing its bags for its very first international vacation.
Sphere Entertainment Co. just announced that it has finalized a massive partnership to build the world's next full-scale Sphere in Abu Dhabi'sYas Island.

"Sphere Abu Dhabi is the first step in realising our vision for a global network of venues. Abu Dhabi is a premier international capital city, and its ambition, infrastructure, and position as a cultural crossroads make it a natural home for Sphere," James L. Dolan, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sphere Entertainment said in a statement. "Sphere Abu Dhabi will establish Yas Island as a destination in the region for immersive experiences, and we look forward to working with DCT Abu Dhabi to see this venue come to life."
"Abu Dhabi is open, ambitious and unwavering in its direction. This project reflects the strength of Abu Dhabi's international partnerships, built on shared ambition and mutual confidence in what this emirate represents as a global destination," HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi said in the same statement.
But for vacationers planning their next big global getaway, the real headline isn't the budget; it's the jaw-dropping location.
The next-gen mega-structure is officially dropping right into a plot of land nestled between Yas Mall and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. For the uninitiated, Yas Island has quietly grown into one of the fastest-growing global tourism and theme park hotspots on the planet.
Instead of standing alone in the desert, the new Sphere will share an address with an absolute playground of world-class attractions. Visitors can already ride the world's fastest roller coaster at Ferrari World, hang out with superheroes at Warner Bros. World, or catch the annual Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
And the destination is only getting bigger. The new Sphere is slated to open its doors by the end of 2029, positioning it perfectly to debut alongside the highly anticipated, upcoming Disney theme park resort also headed to the island.
