Love Is A Demon Lands on Steam July 17, With A Demo At June's Steam Next Fest

Indie developer Fantastic Humans has announced that Love Is a Demon, their supernatural narrative adventure, will launch on Steam on July 17. A playable demo arrives at Steam Next Fest on June 15.

In this game, you play as Ash, an introverted dreamer who has finally worked up the nerve to confess feelings to their best friend Ivy. Then demons show up, the world goes sideways, and what was supposed to be a straightforward emotional moment becomes a chaotic supernatural adventure. With multiple possible endings depending on the choices you make along the way, Love Is a Demon will take you on a ride on an emotional roller coaster.

An Emotional Game Built From Personal Experience

Love Is a Demon was developed by Aleksandra Jarosz, a game designer who also holds a Fine Arts PhD and a background in psychology, and who previously worked on Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. The game grew out of questions she was sitting with about love, rejection, and self-discovery, manifesting into what the game ends up becoming.

Love Is a Demon is a narrative adventure that blends absurd humor with genuine emotional vulnerability. Branching conversations, environmental storytelling, and puzzles are all tied to Ash's internal state. The supernatural chaos serves the emotional core rather than distracting from it.

The game features multiple endings shaped by how you navigate Ash's relationships with Ivy and a second potential love interest, Luna. Players can also choose from three different character appearances for Ash at the start. Fantastic Humans describes the tone as "heartfelt and humorous," sitting at the intersection of romance, comedy, and supernatural chaos, which is a specific and appealing target to aim for.

Love Is a Demon launches on Steam on July 17. The demo goes live at Steam Next Fest on June 15.
