Travis Kelce Liked a Post About Taking Taylor Swift's Last Name and Fans Lost It

Travis Kelce didn't say a word. He didn't have to.

On May 26, Kelce liked an Instagram post featuring a clip from the Bussin' With the Boyspodcast, in which hosts Taylor Lewan and Will Compton debated whether Taylor Swiftwould take her fiancé's name after their wedding this summer. The conversation took a turn when one of the guests suggested the odds were actually higher that Kelce, not Swift, would be the one to make the switch. 'Travis Swift kind of goes,' Lewan said. 'Kelce's got a ring to it too,' Compton added. Then someone floated a hybrid: Kelce-Swift, Swift-Kelce, or something entirely new. The segment ended without a verdict, which may be exactly why Kelce found it worth a like.

Kelce liked the post. Fans noticed within hours. 'Travis liking this,' one person wrote on X, trailing off into emojis. Another kept it simpler: 'Kelce-Swift does sound great.'

The name debate has followed this couple since they went public in 2023, but it sharpened considerably after their engagement last August, announced with a joint Instagram post and the caption 'Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.' Swift, 36, has given almost nothing away since. Kelce, also 36, has been similarly careful, which is exactly what made his like so interesting.

The podcast hosts had laid out the logic plainly. Swift is the more globally famous of the two, a billionaire artist who spent years fighting to reclaim her own catalog and public narrative. Swifties have long assumed that someone of her stature would not simply absorb her husband's name. The idea that he might take hers, or that they might meet somewhere in between, is what sent fans sideways.

Their wedding is widely reported to be set for this summer, with heavy speculation pointing to June 13 in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. June 13 is Swift's lucky number. For a couple who have navigated years of extraordinary public scrutiny with unusual grace, the name question is one of the last genuine mysteries heading into the wedding, and one neither of them has shown any interest in answering early.

It is not the first time this question has hovered over the relationship. Since the couple went public, Swifties have speculated about every logistical detail of their life together, and Swift has given little away on any of it.

What Kelce's like suggests (and it's only a suggestion) is that he's thought about it.
