Beloved '80s Icon Celebrates Big Birthday With a Blast From the Past

A pop culture icon of the '80s is celebrating a milestone birthday with a cherished memory from the past.

Brooke Shields is marking number 61 by reflecting on an iconic moment from 1986. To celebrate the occasion, she posted a nostalgic image to Instagram that instantly transported fans back to the decade of excess.

She wrote, "40 years went by about as fast as that cake… and tonight's crème brûlée! Thank you for all the birthday love today!! I have a feeling 61 will be so sweet."

The image showed Shields at the age of 21, cutting into a large sheet cake with the words "Happy 21st Brooke" written across the top. She embraced quintessential '80s style in a green dress with oversized shoulders, puffed sleeves, and a textured crushed fabric finish.
