‘A-Team' Legend Mr. T, 74, Is Still Sporting His Gold Chains Almost 40 Years After the Show's End

Mr. T became a household name in the '80, but the star of The A-Team is still raring to go in 2026.

Mr. T, 74, rose to stardom in 1982's Rocky III, followed by the role of Sergeant B. A. Baracus on The A-Team, which ran from 1983 to 1987. He was also known as a professional wrestler, and became a classic source of '80s catchphrases like "I pity the fool!"

In the present day, Mr. T tends to fly under the radar. However, he did make a rare appearance alongside Breaking Bad star Dean Norris, who was delighted to run into the star at a recent event. Sporting an American flag bandana on his head and a long gold necklace, Mr. T reminded us why he skyrocketed to fame several decades ago.

"When you need the A Team," Norris captioned his photo and video, which showed the duo catching up.

Where Did Mr. T Get His Nickname?

Born Laurence Tureaud, Mr. T adopted his name while working as a bodyguard for high-profile clients after serving in the US Army's Military Police Corps, according to HELLO!.

"So when I was 18 years old, when I was old enough to vote, I said I was old enough to be called a man. I self-ordained myself Mr. T, so the first word out of everybody's mouth is 'Mr," he previously told Playboy.

Mr. T's Cancer Battle

While he may look like the ultimate tough guy, Mr. T has no problem opening up about his battle with cancer. In 1995, a biopsy led to a diagnosis of a rare type of T-cell lymphoma.

"Can you imagine that?!," Mr. T told Coping with Cancer magazine. "Cancer with my name on it, personalized cancer."

Despite the struggle, Mr. T said the journey through cancer has made him even more of a fighter.

"I have grown into a cancer fighter. I am a soldier, a veteran at that," Mr. T shared. "Cancer wants to fight me again. I am not afraid this time. Fighting cancer for the third time, can I still believe in God? Yes, I can, and stronger than before."
