Sharon Osbourne Eyeing Animated Revival of ‘The Osbournes'

Ozzy Osbourne was already a big name in heavy metal before the MTV reality series “The Osbournes,” but that show put him at another level.

Now, the late metal musician’s widow, Sharon, is talking about what she’s planning to do to honor the 25th anniversary of the TV show next year.

“The Osbournes” followed the lives of Ozzy’s family, including Sharon and their children. To honor the 25th anniversary of the series, which will happen in 2027, Sharon says the show may become a cartoon.

“We are in talks with a company now about doing a cartoon of ‘The Osbournes,’ and it would open up a whole younger audience,” Sharon told Global Licensing Group at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas.

Their son, Jack, added, “Nostalgia is the key word these days, so I think it just, you know, leans a lot in there. It’s 25 years ago. Since we started distributing the show again, there’s a whole new audience out there for it.”

Sharon and Jack also talked about how they want to keep paying tribute to Ozzy and not let fans forget about him.

“I think that it’s, you know, the Ozzy brand and legacy is open for business,” Jack said. Sharon added, “Ozzy’s not going anywhere. He’s with us and he’s not going anywhere and that’s what it’s all about, to keep his legacy alive.”

Ozzy died in July of 2025 at the age of 76. It’s great to see Sharon and Jack work to keep his legacy alive, given all the heavy music he’s given to the world.
