Jason Sudeikis Makes Rare Comment on Dating Since Split From Olivia Wilde in 2020

Breakups are never easy, and neither is dating when you're in the Hollywood spotlight. Bad Bosses actor Jason Sudeikis opens up about dating since his highly publicized breakup with actor Olivia Wilde six years ago.

In an episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Sudeikis confirmed that he is currently single and is finding the dating scene "daunting and overwhelming." He said so in relation to no longer being at a point in his life where "it feels good or fulfilling to date numerous people all at once."

The Ted Lasso star also added that being single has its ups and downs, but isn't necessarily looking intently for someone to date. The topic of relationships also led the actor to put it into perspective as a father to two children. He admits that anyone he dates won't be at the top of the list compared to his daughters.

"Anybody I'm dating … they're never number one on the call sheet, as the showbiz saying would go," Sudeikis said. "The kids are."

"Even probably more so than myself," he continued. "Then there's that little bit as you get older where you're like, ‘Oh god, I got to make sure my cup's full in order for, you know, other people to get the overflow.'"

Sudeikis's response to dating comes years after his public split from the House star. The two actors started dating in 2011 after meeting at a Saturday Night Live afterparty and got engaged in 2013. While never having gotten married, the two were together for nine years and welcomed two children in 2014 and 2016.

It was confirmed in late 2020 that Sudeikis and Wilde had split, with reports of it having been amicable. Some time later, their breakup was highly publicized due to custody and financial disputes. In 2022, Wilde was publicly served court documents regarding child custody while on stage at CinemaCon, presenting her film Don't Worry Darling. She described the incident as "viscous" with Sudeikis's reps revealing he had no idea of the time or place the papers would be served. A year later, the two reached a co-parenting and joint custody agreement

When it comes to whether Sudeikis would be a father again, he says he's open to the idea if he "fell in love" again.
