‘Saturday Night Live' Legend Cheri Oteri Looks Better Than Ever at 63 on the Red Carpet
Cheri Oteri, a Saturday Night Live legend, looks better than ever on the red carpet.
Oteri, 63, who rose to fame on SNL with characters like Arianna of The Spartan Cheerleaders alongside Will Ferrell, Cass Van Rye on Morning Latte, and Nadeen, a disgruntled employee who told everyone to "Simmer down now," departed the iconic late-night series in 2000. In the years that followed, Oteri made endless TV and film appearances, but avoided the major spotlight that claimed many of her famous former co-stars. But in a recent red carpet appearance at the Scary Movie 6 premiere, the actress looked absolutely stunning in a halter-neck dress.
Why Did Cheri Oteri Leave SNL?
Last year, Oteri told Entertainment Weekly that departing the series after the season 25 finale on May 20, 2000, was a difficult choice. However, it was the right one.
"I wanted to end on a high and not a low. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made," she told EW. "I thought, I can't quit. I'm not a quitter. Then my agent at the time said, it's not about you quitting, it's do you want to renew your contract? I think I could have stayed there for 10 years if it wasn't so hard."
While it was bittersweet to leave, Oteri said her decision not to return was "a part of taking care of myself."
"It was everything I ever wanted to do. I got to live my dream," she said. "I have no regrets whatsoever. I just feel nothing but gratitude."
What's Cheri Oteri up to These Days?
SNL fans rejoiced when they heard that Oteri would guest star on an episode of Happy'sPlace that aired in December. The comedy queen took on a guest-starring role as a health inspector named Monica, TV Insider reported.
