Haleon has issued a voluntary recall for specific lots of Gas-X, an over-the-counter medication used to alleviate gas and stomach pain, due to potential contamination from machine coolant.

Four lots of Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels 125mg, 120 ct. and 72 ct., which were distributed on or about April 13 through May 14, "are being recalled due to potential contamination with a diluted propylene glycol-based coolant from a machine leakage during the packaging process," states a notice issued by the Food and Drug Administration.

It continues, stating that "there is a potential that ingestion of the Softgels contaminated with the diluted propylene glycol-based coolant may result in adverse events such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea." As of publication, there have been no reports of adverse events related to the recall.
