Watch: Elle shakes up Seattle in trailer for 'Legally Blonde' prequel

June 9 (UPI) -- Prime Video is gearing up for the release of Elle.

The streaming service shared a trailer for the show Tuesday featuring Lexi Minetree as a young Elle Woods, the protagonist of the 2001 film Legally Blonde.

Elle is a prequel series following a teenage Elle, whose life is turned upside down when her family moves from glamorous Bel-Air to Seattle.

The trailer shows Elle attempt to fit in at her new school before embracing who she is, and also name Bruiser, her beloved dog from Legally Blonde.

"Through it all, Elle uses her family as a touchstone, and forms an even tighter bond to her mother, proving that they can get through anything life throws their way as long as they have each other. With each challenge she faces, Elle grows closer to the Elle Woods we know and love today," an official synopsis reads.

June Diane Raphael also stars as Elle's mom, Eva, with Tom Everett Scott as her dad, Wyatt. Other cast members include Jacob Moskovitz, Gabrielle Policano, Chandler Kinney, Zac Looker and Amy Pietz.

Ellepremieres July 1 on Prime Video. Reese Witherspoon, who played Elle in the Legally Blonde movies, serves as an executive producer on the show.
