'90s Metal Band Signs New Record Deal 28 Years After First World Tour

Hatebreed, the iconic metalcore band, is entering a bold new era.

Formed in 1994, the band has long been regarded as one of the most influential acts in modern metalcore, showcasing thrash metal guitar riffs accompanied by unmatched energy and motivating lyrics.

Over three decades since its formation, the five-piece band, composed of frontman Jamey Jasta, lead guitarist Wayne Lozinak, rhythm guitarist Frank Novinec, bassist Carl Schwartz and drummer Matt Byrne, has just secured a major new chapter.

Hatebreed has officially signed with BLKIIBLK Records, a heavy metal and hard rock label under the Italy-based Frontiers Label Group, co-founded by industry veteran Mike Gitter.

In an Instagram post, the label introduced Hatebreed as its newest artist, joining Texas death metal band Creeping Death, Aussie deathcore titans To The Grave and the legendary heavy metal band Megadeth.

In addition to this, one of Hatebreed's first projects with the new label is their upcoming album.

Set to release this fall, the record will be the band's ninth studio album following Weight of the False Self.

"BlLKIIBLK Records is proud to announce the signing of HATEBREED," Gitter shared. "Not only are they a name carved into the heavy music landscape, but they are as vital and relevant a force as ever. Perhaps even more so. We are excited to work with Jamey [Jasta], who continues to bring new energy to everything he touches. Jasta and HATEBREED aren't merely about perseverance - they're about bringing the sound of the extreme to a new level. We're honored to be working together."

Meanwhile, the lead vocalist also expressed the same sentiment, noting how grateful they are for working with "brother-in-arms, Zeuss, once again," which he considered one of his "favorite things" about making the album.

"His connection with Matt, Wayne, Frank, Carl, and me goes far beyond the producer's chair. I've known him since the Pushbutton Warfare and Jasta 14 days; he's been like a sixth member of this band for years. When you're chasing something timeless, memorable, and meaningful, having that level of trust and understanding makes all the difference," Jamey Jasta explained. "We would high-five, scream, pace, and celebrate every time we elevated the song or hit on something killer. From ‘I Will Be Heard' to ‘Destroy Everything,' ‘Looking Down The Barrel' to now, ‘Decisions Become Destinies!' We got another one, Zeussky!"

Hatebreed's transition from Nuclear Blast to BLKIIBLK Records marks a major move that comes 28 years after the band's first international debut through the 1998 Warped Tour.
