Chris Evans Reveals His Role in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars'

Chris Evans held no bars when speaking about the fate of his beloved character Steve Rogers in “Avengers: Secret Wars.”

When the much awaited first trailer of “Avengers: Doomsday,” released during the screening of “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” it was revealed that Evans’ Steve Rogers will be returning for the upcoming Marvel offering that also stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

However, it also sent the fans into the rabbit hole of speculations regarding the fate of the Captain America star, as many thought the film would send the character off, for better or for worse.

Evans has now shed light into the speculation as he shared in a video that he’d be reprising his role as Steve Rogers for “Avengers: Secret Wars,” which is coming to the theaters exactly a year after the release of “Avengers: Doomsday” on this Dec. 18.

In a video that recently went viral on Instagram, the 45-year-old actor is found saying that he would start “work on the next one” in “a couple of months." However, he noted that he “can't tell you how much I'm in the next one, but I'm in it."

While Evans’ announcement brought respite to many Marvel fans, it doesn’t mean the speculations will stop. With half a year left till the release of “Doomsday,” the theories regarding the fan-favorite Avenger’s fate will be abound.

The “Materialists” star’s recent admission also created a ripple on the social media as fans shared their opinion on his reprisal of the role.

One of the fans curiously asked, “So Falcon is gonna return his shield back to him?”

Another netizen noted, “So why was he killed off if he'll just keep returning”

“How long till we hear Scar Jo will come back as black widow? This was bound to happen as soon as Robert Downey Jr announced he'll be coming back,” said another netizen.

Someone else, who is not a fan of his return, however, noted, “They should have let Steve Rogers rest, he his too old mehn.”

“Evans might actually look like this when he's really done with Marvel,” said another fan.

Meanwhile, in other Marvel news, Tom Holland and Zendaya have officially kicked off the “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” in Spain. The film, one of the major Marvel movies before “Doomsday” is schedule to release on July 31.
