Look: 'Grand Theft Auto VI' cover art revealed, pre-orders begin June 25

June 18 (UPI) -- Rockstar Games released on Thursday the official cover art for Grand Theft Auto VI and set the pre-order date for June 25.

"Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers," Rockstar Games said on Instagram alongside a shot video highlighting the cover.

The cover retains the signature block style of previous Grand Theft Auto covers with lead characters Lucia and Jason at the top.

The game's Miami-inspired Vice City setting also comes into play on the cover with palm trees, a gator and a boat also making an appearance alongside other characters.

It remains unclear how much Grand Theft Auto VI will cost when pre-orders open on June 25.

Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the most anticipated games of the year and perhaps of all-time. The game, slated for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, will follow Lucia and Jason as they embark on a life of crime together in Vice City.

The most recent Grand Theft Auto game, Grand Theft Auto V, was released in 2013. The fifth entry has sold over 200 million copies and received multiple updates over the years through its Grand Theft Auto Online mode. Grand Theft Auto V has also been ported to newer consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The series last visited Vice City in the 1980s-themed classic Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which was released in 2002.
