Olivia Wilde Opens up About Dating Harry Styles

Remember when Olivia Wilde was dating Harry Styles and it was all people could talk about?

Well, more than three years after their breakup, Wilde is speaking out about their relationship and talking about how people got involved.

During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, host Alex Cooper asked her why her relationship with the musician was so in the spotlight. Wilde admitted that it drew a big reaction from followers, perhaps because of their age gap. She’s 10 years older than him.

“It really did upset people,” Olivia said on the show. “It was crazy, I don't know how much I understand it yet. That's one of the factors that I never really felt I like fully … I don't know.”

She added: “I mean, I know that it has existed for a very long time in our society. I understand it had very little to do with me. It is something that we have … done … to women for a long time. Why is it? I don’t know…”

Olivia also said it was perhaps due to the “kind of parasocial relationship people have” with the musician, adding that it’s a “burden” he has but that he carries it with “grace.”

Do you ever bash your exes? It doesn’t appear that’s Olivia’s thing. She had only glowing things to say about Styles.

“It’s wild because, I mean, we had the loveliest relationship,” she said. “Like so, so sweet and so beautiful and like, really, actually, very domestic and kind and lovely.”

She added that “it’s almost like the happiness made them mad.” She also said people would criticize her for going to his concerts and dancing to his music. Strange, right?

These days, Styles is with Zoë Kravitz. The two are rumored to be engaged.
