Trending Now: Social Media remembers R&B superstar Aaliyah
Music and Memories
I remember where I was when news hit the airwaves in 2001 that R&B singer Aaliyah Haughton (@AaliyahHaughton) had died in a plane crash.
Tuesday marked 14 years since Aaliyah’s death, and memories of the singer, dancer, and actress began trending on social media. There are rumors swirling that her former producer and longtime friend Timbaland (@Timbaland) is working on unreleased music, which fans are eagerly anticipating.
#AaliyahForMac is a campaign that encourages fans to a sign a petition in an effort to convince MAC cosmetics to create and release a limited edition makeup collection in honor of the late star. Tuesday also marked the 40th anniversary of Columbia Records’ release of Bruce Springsteen’s iconic “Born to Run” album: nando.com/210.
