The fair winds down

Early Halloween

Fall in Cary

The Downtown Cary Fall Festival will have local artists, vendors, food trucks, a kids zone, human foosball and a free concert by Southern Culture on the Skids.

Scary Show

The Transactors Improv group’s annual tribute to horror, suspense and sci-fi will have a live soundtrack provided by the local rockers Killer Filler.

‘Criminal’ live

8 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 27); Carolina Theatre, 309 W. Morgan St., Durham; $22; carolinatheatre.org

The popular – and locally produced – “Criminal” podcast is touring the country with live shows this fall. Of course, their hometown is on the list.
