Theater Picks: Metzler’s ‘The May Queen’ at PlayMakers
Perception vs. reality drives Molly Smith Metzler’s “The May Queen,” now at PlayMakers Repertory Company. Director Vivienne Benesch guides a cast of five through the comic (and sometimes serious) repercussions of a woman returning to her small hometown work in an office. Her co-workers, remembering her as the high school May Queen, wonder what’s brought her back after such a seemingly advantageous send-off.
7:30 p.m. Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday (through Dec. 11). $15-$62. 919-962-7529 or playmakersrep.org.
