Win the new book ‘The Awkward Thoughts of W. Kamau Bell’

In “The Awkward Thoughts of W. Kamau Bell: Tales of a 6’4” African American, Heterosexual, Cisgender, Left-Leaning, Asthmatic, Black and Proud Blerd, Mama’s Boy, Dad and Stand-Up Comedian” (Dutton, $28), the host of CNN’s “United Shades of America” takes a funny, well-informed look at the world today.

Bell addresses topics like racial profiling, intersectional progressivism in comedy (it’s complicated), his own interracial marriage and how he was a Black nerd (a Blerd) before that was even a thing – and that’s just a very short list.
