Classical Picks, April 3: Pianist Paul Lewis performs at Duke
English pianist Paul Lewis, whose recordings of all the Beethoven piano sonatas won the highest plaudits from the New York Times, brings his distinguished command to Duke University’s Baldwin Auditorium Friday night. He plays the composer’s last three sonatas (Nos. 30-32), reflecting Beethoven’s experimenting with classical style as well as his reaction to his debilitating hearing loss. 8 p.m. $32-$38 (ages 30 and under $15). 919-684-4444 or dukeperformances.duke.edu.
