Company Wang Ramirez

Why go: Honji Wang is a German-Korean woman trained in classical ballet; Sébastien Ramirez is a Frenchman with Spanish roots who’s a virtuoso break-dancer. A couple in life as well as on stage, the two dance out their differences and universality.

What’s on: “Monchichi” (2011) explores the pair’s life together, from difficulties in understanding each other to bridging their cultural backgrounds, all done with dazzling technique and refreshing humor.

Why go: Known for his three-decade career as a choreographer, Bill T. Jones specializes in works that interpret historical events and personages, from AIDS to Abraham Lincoln.

What’s on: “Anthology/Dora: Tramontane” is an evening-length work based on the life of a Belgian Jewish nurse who persevered during the WWII German invasion and later in an underground organization in a French interment camp.
