Theater preview: Witty 'A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder' tour has DPAC dates
What’s on: “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder”
The buzz: Winner of four 2014 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the show is comic romp about a penniless Britisher who discovers he’s related to wealth but there are eight relatives in his way to becoming an earl. He decides to bump them off one by one, wittily dispatching them in operetta and music hall style.
Watch for: John Rapson’s tour-de-force performance as all eight family members; the ornate toy theater setting and clever projections; the richly detailed Victorian costumes.
About the tour: The Triangle is one of its first stops, the third on the 19-city tour. Director Darko Tresnjak has improved and enlarged the show for this tour, based on his observations during its Broadway run.
