What’s On: “The Illusionists – Live From Broadway”

The Buzz: A hit in its limited run on Broadway in 2014, the show is a family-friendly evening of stunts, spectacle and comedy, reminiscent of a Las Vegas production. The show includes a band and a troupe of assistants for the master magicians who perform awe-inspiring tricks, escapes and deceptions that often involve audience participation.

Watch For: The unique persona of each performer, from the Marilyn Manson-like Dan Sperry’s spooky bird manipulations to buff body-builder Jonathan Goodwin’s daredevil escapes; the high-tech lighting, video effects and pyrotechnics.

About the Tour: This stop is the tour’s final week before the show goes back to Broadway Nov. 19 for a holiday run.

Where to see it: Durham Performing Arts Center, 123 Vivian St.

When: 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10-12; 8 p.m. Nov. 13-14; 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 14; 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 15

Tickets: $25-$150
