Apps: Churchill Solitaire a card game with some history
Churchill Solitaire: Solitaire may not be the most exciting game on the planet. But the story behind Churchill Solitaire merits a second look. The version of the classic card game in this app was a two-deck version played by Winston Churchill, and the rules were reportedly passed on through a mutual friend to this app’s adviser, Donald Rumsfeld. He decided to help develop this app at the age of 83.
Churchill Solitaire offers an interesting twist: There are six cards that don’t enter into regular play but that do have to be put in their proper place when you sort your decks into suits. The app also has a $5 paid campaign that will take you through the life of Churchill in 200 games. You can also purchase smaller sets of missions for $1 each. Users get a few free hints and undo options during play, but you will eventually have to pay for them on higher difficulties.
Free for iOS. Android in development.
