The regional premiere of Kimber Lee’s moving drama about senseless violence in a Brooklyn neighborhood where an African-American teenager’s promising life is changed forever.

“Macbeth” April 14-17, Carolina Ballet, Memorial Auditorium, Raleigh.

Company artistic director Robert Weiss takes on the challenge of creating an evening length ballet based on Shakespeare’s dark tale of violent political ambition. The score is by award-winning N.C. composer J. Mark Scearce.

“Beertown” May 6-22, Raleigh Little Theatre.

An interactive piece about the opening of a time capsule with artifacts keyed to Raleigh. The audience must decide what to keep in and what to discard – and bring dessert for the potluck.
