Why go: This program of five pieces by five choreographers makes a great introduction to modern dance. Works range from Brian Brooks’ eight dancers fluctuating between ordered patterns and unrestrained exuberance to Gabrielle Revlock’s mesmerizing solo with a hula-hoop.

Why go: “Analogy/Lance” is the second part of a trilogy that Jones and associate artistic director Janet Wong are creating. This evening-length work looks at a young man battling drugs and the sex trade, combining text, storytelling and movement (contains adult language and subject matter).
