Lisa Grele Barrie stepping down as CEO of NC Theatre
Lisa Grele Barrie, who has been at the helm of North Carolina Theatre for close to a decade, is moving on.
Barrie, who has served as president and CEO of the non-profit professional regional theatre since 2009, will leave the company at the end of 2016. She originally joined North Carolina Theatre as development director in 2003 before moving up to managing director in 2008 and then president/CEO the following year.
During her tenure, Barrie linked North Carolina Theatre with the City of Raleigh for a six-show season including productions like “Monty Python’s Spamalot” and the Green Day rock opera “American Idiot.”
No reason was given for the departure beyond Barrie’s statement that she is “look(ing) forward to contributing to the creative community in the next chapter of my professional career in Raleigh.”
A CEO selection committee is already seeking a successor. Interested applicants should contact Mitch Perry at nct@nctheatre.com.
