What to Watch Wednesday: ‘Normal People,’ based on bestselling novel, hits streaming

Spy in the Wild: A Nature Miniseries (8 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) - This new miniseries explores wildlife that thrives in the tropics, including a hippo pod, a nursery of red flying foxes, a gorilla sanctuary and pygmy forest elephants.

Celebrity Ghost Stories (10 p.m., A&E) - NeNe Leakes joins the host to investigate paranormal events connected to a wedding she attended in Atlanta. When they visit the scene, it’s revealed that the haunting is more personal than NeNe imagined.

Normal People (Hulu) - This new drama series based on Sally Rooney’s best-selling novel premieres with all 12 episodes. The story is focused on the complicated relationship between Marianne and Connell from the end of their school days in a small town in Ireland to their undergraduate days at Trinity College.
