Big Cat Week: Jade Eyed Leopard (Nat Geo Wild) - Big Cat Week starts today with the 8 premiere “Jade Eyed Leopard,” from world-renowned big-cat filmmakers and co-founders of the Big Cat Initiative Beverly and Dereck Joubert, and narrated by the Oscar-winning and Emmy Award-nominated actor Jeremy Irons. The film transports viewers to an idyllic paradise, where for the first time ever, National Geographic cameras capture the story of a young female leopard, Toto, during the critical first three years of her life. Big Cat Week includes the three-night premiere of “Savage Kingdom” (Season 4), and favorites “Swamp Lions,” “Jaguar: Supercat,” “Lion Gangland,” “Cat Wars: Lion v. Cheetah,” “Battle for the Pride,” “Tiger Wars” and more. Big Cat Week is an extension of the Big Cats Initiative, a long-term commitment by the National Geographic Society in partnership with the Jouberts to halt the decline of big cats in the wild. This global program actively supports on-the-ground research and conservation projects to protect the planet’s top felines.

American Ninja Warrior (8 p.m., NBC) - A new season begins with round one of qualifying. The ninjas face up to six challenging obstacles, including Ring Chaser and Rib Run, which are new to the course this year, in addition to Shrinking Steps, Slingshot and the iconic Warped Wall.

The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne (9 p.m., A&E) - This Biography documentary tracks rocker Ozzy Osbourne’s life from his childhood in poverty in Birmingham, England, and time in prison to fronting the legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Osbourne later launched a successful solo career before becoming one of rock’s elder statesman and a lovable 21st-century television dad. The profile features interviews with Ozzy’s wife Sharon; his children Kelly and Jack; musicians Rick Rubin, Ice-T, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Jonathan Davis and Post Malone; and with Ozzy himself.

Portraits and Dreams (10 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) - In this POV documentary, photographs taken by Kentucky schoolchildren in the 1970s and photographs taken of their lives since then, illustrate the linkage of personal memory to the passage of time.
