What to Watch on Thursday: Well, ‘Training Day’ just got depressing
Training Day (10 p.m., CBS) – Well, this new show suddenly got very sad to watch. Tonight, Kyle tries to help Frank (Bill Paxton, RIP) clear his name after Deputy Chief Lockhart opens an internal investigation into a past shooting which could cost Frank his badge and freedom.

Riverdale (9 p.m., The CW) – Valerie and Josie have a major falling out, while Betty and Jughead’s probe into Jason’s death leads them to a home for troubled youth.
When We Rise (9 p.m., ABC) – Cleve, Ken and Richard each contract AIDS, which is ravaging the gay community.
Blacklist: Redemption (10 p.m., NBC) – An American journalist and family friend of Scottie is falsely arrested for espionage in a dangerous foreign country.
History of Comedy (10 p.m., CNN) – The fourth installment explores the remarkably common occurrence of when mental illness and substance abuse intersect with comedians.
