WTVD anchor announces her departure from the station

WTVD news anchor Anna Laurel is leaving the Triangle to move to California with her husband.

In a Facebook post dated early Monday morning, Laurel wrote that today is her last day at ABC11:

After nearly 5 years, today is my last day ABC11 WTVD- my husband and I are moving back to California.

I've interviewed National Champs, cancer survivors & researchers looking for a cure. I've met and worked with the most incredible people and got to share what's happening in the community my family calls home. I am forever grateful. Thank you for inviting me into your homes and into your lives.

Laurel started at WTVD in 2013 and was the co-anchor for the afternoon and evening newscasts.
