Some of Charlotte’s most infamous murders will be examined in the upcoming season of the Investigation Discovery true crime series “Homicide City.”

The six-episode season, which premieres Tuesday night at 9, features current Charlotte-Mecklenburg Sheriff Garry McFadden, a former Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department homicide detective and star of the ID series “I Am Homicide.” “I Am Homicide” had McFadden recounting some of the big cases of his career in Charlotte.

McFadden appears in the “Homicide City” episodes along with members of the CMPD Homicide Division to present the cases and break down how the perpetrators were caught.

Each episode will focus on one case, using what ID describes as “exclusive archival footage and first-hand accounts” from investigators. Surviving family members are also interviewed.

‘Homicide City: Charlotte’ Episode list

Here’s a list of the episodes set to air this season. All episodes air at 9 p.m. on the Investigation Discovery channel.

Dec. 3: “My Friends, The End” tells the story of 18-year-old Harmahn Smith, reported missing by his parents in February 2005 after not making his curfew. Smith’s car was later discovered with blood in the trunk and a tipster leads police to the facts that will help solve the case.

Dec. 10: “Trail of Evil” is about the murders of two women committed 8 years apart. First, the 1979 murder of bar manager and aspiring singer Harriett Simmons goes unsolved despite police work. In 1987, Jerri Ann Jones vanishes after getting off work at a Charlotte grocery store. Twenty years later, a random tip connects the two cases.

Dec. 17: “Churchside Killer” tells the story of the 2005 murder of Kenyadda Patterson — a single mother of two who works two jobs, does volunteer work and attends UNC-Charlotte in pursuit of a college degree. Her body is found behind a local Charlotte church and police have many suspects to investigate. But a random database search is ultimately what helps police find her killer.

Jan. 7: “Devil in Disguise” looks at the Nikki McPhatter murder in 2009. Clues about McPhatter’s disappearance lead Charlotte detectives to South Carolina, where they work with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department to bring the killer and his accomplice to justice.

Jan. 14: “ABCs of Murder” tells the story of beloved Charlotte school teacher Anthony Davis, who also serves as a mentor to youths in need. Davis was found murdered in his home in 2010, and police ultimately discover that someone he had tried to help is responsible for his death.

Jan. 21: “Auditing Evil” delves into the case of the 2008 murder of Sallie Rohrbach of Raleigh, an auditor for the N.C. Department of Insurance who vanished while on a business trip to Charlotte. CMPD explain how they located Rohrbach and uncovered the truth about who was responsible for her murder.
