What to Watch Thursday: New documentary tells the story of Raleigh’s Oberlin Village

The Unicorn (8:30 p.m., CBS) - Wade lands a job for Denny, a wealthy, newly divorced client, and then realizes Dennis is only interested in using Wade to meet women.

Oberlin: A Village Rooted in Freedom (10 p.m., UNC-TV) - This new documentary from Preservation North Carolina and Moonlight Communications recounts the historic preservation project that has helped recover the story of a once-thriving town near Raleigh built after the Civil War by formerly enslaved and free blacks. It recounts how the renovation of two 1880s houses by Preservation North Carolina has exposed remarkable stories about the families who lived there, and how the village was ultimately destroyed by segregation and development.

Hometown Homicide (10 p.m., Investigation Discovery) - Tonight’s episode tackles the case made famous by Season 1 of the Up and Vanished podcast: the disappearance and presumed murder of 30-year-old teacher and former beauty queen, Tara Grinstead.
