What to Watch Friday: 20/20 has exclusive interviews in SC’s Murdaugh family saga

20/20 (9 p.m., ABC) - “20/20” goes back to the Murdaugh family murder case in South Carolina, this time to examine what happened when 19-year-old Mallory Beach was killed in a boat crash involving Alex Murdaugh’s son, Paul Murdaugh. Tonight’s episode has exclusive interviews with Mallory’s parents, who share about feeling “closure” after her body was found one week after the 2019 crash. The program also documents the latest details in the developing Murdaugh saga, from the murders of Paul and Maggie, the alleged financial crimes of Alex and other unusual events surrounding the family.

Dateline: What Happened in Vegas (9 p.m., NBC) - Keith Morrison reports on how a chance encounter on the Pacific Coast Highway with a woman he first spoke to in a jail cell led him to reexamine the mysterious death of Las Vegas casino magnate Ted Binion. Tonight’s show has never-before-seen footage from interviews with insiders close to the case. Morrison talks to Binion’s former girlfriend Sandy Murphy, former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, investigator Wayne Petersen and more.

Sex Appeal (Hulu) - This new Hulu original film follows a young woman named Avery, who doesn’t do things she isn’t excellent at. So when her long-distance boyfriend hints at wanting to take their relationship to the next level, she sets out to master her sexuality, employing her oldest friend, Larson, as a test subject. It stars Mika Abdalla, Jake Short, Mason Versaw, Paris Jackson, Margret Cho and Fortune Feimster.

Scream: The True Story (Discovery+) -The latest installment in the “Shock Docs” series tells the horrific story of serial killer Danny Rolling, aka The Gainesville Ripper. It explores the real-life horror of a murderer who believed he was a possessed by a demon and whose gruesome crime spree inspired the blockbuster film “Scream.” The documentary includes a paranormal investigation, archival media and expert interviews.

King of the Con (Discovery+) - This documentary series looks at how a scam artist can reinvent himself and get rich many times over. It features one of the first interviews with Barry Minkow, the master of self reinvention, discussing his life and crimes.
