What to Watch Friday: Where to stream ‘Halloween Ends’ + new true crime
Here’s what’s on TV tonight.
Dateline NBC: A Walk in the Rain (9 p.m., NBC)
Josh Mankiewicz reports on the disappearance of 19-year-old Alaska Native woman Sonya Ivanoff. When Ivanoff vanished in August 2003, it sent shockwaves through the small coastal city of Nome, Alaska. Police scrambled to find answers and then a note was discovered in a stolen police vehicle telling investigators to “back off or else.” Mankiewicz interviews retired Nome police officer Bryan Weyauvanna, retired Alaska Bureau of Investigation case officer Eric Burroughs, criminalist Kerrie Cathcart, Ivanoff’s friends and family and others.
‘Halloween Ends’ (Peacock)
This new movie catches up with Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) four years after her last encounter with unstoppable murderer Michael Myers, as she decides to “liberate herself and embrace life.” But then a local murder unleashes another wave of violence and terror, forcing her to confront an evil she can’t control.
The movie — the lucky No. 13 in the “Halloween” franchise — is a sequel to the 2021 installment “Halloween Kills.” It also premieres today in theaters, but Peacock is its streaming home. (Tip: Peacock has a deal right now, with a whole year for $19.99.)
Will this really “end” Michael Myers and his Halloween devilry? Doubtful.
