The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley (8 p.m., CNN)

CNN airs the HBO documentary about the multi-billion-dollar healthcare technology company Theranos and its founder, Elizabeth Holmes, “whose ambition spawned one of the biggest frauds in Silicon Valley history,” writes CNN.

Holmes sold scientists and investors on the idea of a revolutionary blood-testing device, while deceiving the public, government officials and corporate executives. Her nondisclosure agreements kept frustrated employees from telling the truth about the scam.

Holmes eventually went on trial for her crimes and was found guilty on four counts of fraud and conspiracy and sentenced to 135 months in prison.

This is directed by Emmy and Academy Award winner Alex Gibney.

How to stream: You can stream “The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley” on HBO Max.
