We’re about halfway through the third and final chapter of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” — with the latest episode diving into the drama series from a different point of view.

As wedding planning continues in Cousins Beach, here’s a recap of the ever-evolving love triangle between Belly and the Fisher brothers — picking up from Conrad’s perspective.

Days after Belly decided to stay at the beach house in Cousins, Conrad is struggling with his lingering feelings for her. Even when making repairs on the roof, there’s been one moment playing on repeat in his mind: Their hug after he surprised her with dirt bombs for her birthday a week prior.

As he put it, being that close to her again was “like being hit like a thunderbolt.” But it’s easier for him when he can avoid her, which is what he plans to do until the wedding so that he won’t think of her as anything but his brother’s wife.

A Cousins Beach holiday weekend

Like in years past, the entire gang would be together in Cousins Beach for the Fourth of July. But that wasn’t the case when Steven opted for New York instead, and Taylor had to ditch wedding planning for her mom’s salon inspection. That decision left Belly with just the Fisher brothers for the holiday weekend.

When Belly runs into her future brother-in-law, he’s still a bit vague about his job in California, which no one knows is different from the one he was fired from.

When she asks when he’s heading back and how it sucks that he can’t stay for the wedding, he dodges the question and gets back to housework, which appears to have been their norm since the two became housemates.

A workplace romance?

Back in Boston, things are heating up for Steven and his coworker, Denise.

Despite the “workplace rivalry,” Jeremiah told Steven he can’t see her feelings for him. He was quick to say that he and Taylor were just friends, but he didn't really have an answer when asked why he wouldn’t ask Denise out.

Coincidentally, the two both ended up on the same train heading to the same gaming conference in New York.

Speaking of the workplace, Jeremiah volunteers to stay longer at work to work on a revenue report in hopes of getting on his dad’s good side, which pushes back his train ride to the beach.

That’s when Conrad steps in.

When Belly first asked for a ride into town to get supplies, he somewhat brushed her off. She then left on her bike instead before he changed his mind. But after he later spotted her in town with multiple bags in tow, he stopped to pick her up.

He then takes on the role of amateur wedding planner as he tags along with her to look at florals and a trip to Michaels when Jeremiah ends up staying later at work.

While Belly was upset that he did not have his in-person support for making decisions, the bright side is that Jeremiah’s efforts to impress his dad paid off—literally. He offered counsel on their marriage and covered the costs.

Reconnecting in Cousins Beach

While running errands, Belly tells Conrad about how she wants to work in sports psychology and he opens up about how he started going to therapyto manage panic attacks. He even admitted that he actually did get fired from his clinical job.

Later, the pair got even closer as they stopped at a roadside peach stand and even cooked dinner together over wine, which brought up even more memories for Conrad, specifically the last time they were together at Belly’s house before they broke up.

But that daydream ended when Jeremiah finally arrived that night and told her the news of his dad’s gesture. While she was a bit taken aback by the idea of having the wedding at the country club, she said it seemed like the setting his late mom, Susannah, would’ve wanted.

The two then danced under a fireworks show to Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell,” which Belly agreed could be their first dance song.

While Conrad watched from inside their home, thinking back to when he promised Susannah that he would take care of Jeremiah.

The way he did that?

By letting Belly go and being with his brother.
