TV Picks: New HBO seasons of ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Veep’ and more
New HBO seasons of ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Veep’ and more
In Sunday’s much anticipated Season 6 premiere of “Game of Thrones” on HBO (9 p.m.), fans will officially learn the fate of Jon Snow. Apart from that, we’ve gathered a few other things to expect in the opening episode and in the new season: Daenerys Targaryen meets a strong man (Strong Belwas, perhaps?); Cersei Lannister sees her daughter again, though not under pleasant circumstances; we’ll see imprisoned Margaery Tyrell truly terrified and uncertain, perhaps for the first time ever; the always tough Arya Stark – who is blind – trains for physical combat; and Bran Stark will return (not seen since Season 4).
Interesting nugget: George R.R. Martin, author of the “Game of Thrones” series of novels on which the show is based, recently told Entertainment Weekly that he has plenty of ideas for a spin-off series (or two or three) if HBO is interested. Yeah, I think they’ll be interested.
