What to Watch on Monday: Malcolm unravels in ‘Prodigal Son’ finale

Prodigal Son (9 p.m., Fox) - In the Season 1 finale, Malcolm — who has now been arrested for murder — continues to unravel as the mystery of the girl in the box comes to a head. Meanwhile, Nicholas Endicott’s true colors continue to show, and the Whitlys must decide to what lengths they are willing to go in order to take him down. Fox has yet to say if this show will be renewed for a second season or canceled, but odds for renewal are good.

Jim Allison: Breakthrough (10 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) - In this Independent Lens documentary, immunologist Jim Allison’s quest to find a cure for cancer leads him to the Nobel Prize in 2018 and a series of discoveries on T cells’ ability to stop cancer in its tracks.

Southern Gothic (10 p.m., Investigation Discovery) - In the premiere episode of this new true crime series, three teens vanish and a Texas town’s worst fears are realized when they are found dead.

Dispatches from Elsewhere (10 p.m., AMC) - A final mystery is solved in tonight’s finale.
