What to Watch Tuesday: ‘Genetic Detective’ helps close an unsolved Fayetteville case

The Genetic Detective (10 p.m., ABC) - Investigative genetic genealogist CeCe Moore helps the Fayetteville Police Department catch “The Phantom of Ramsey Street” (also sometimes called the Ramsey Street Rapist), a rapist who preyed on the city from 2006 to 2008. The episode includes interviews with survivor Kobi Haschen, who bravely came forward with her story; Fayetteville Police Department’s Lieutenant John Somerindyke and former supervisor Lieutenant Kellie Berg; sexual assault nurse examiner Liz Herring; and Fayetteville Observer reporter Paul Woolverton.

Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am (8 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) - This American Masters documentary about the legendary Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning author features reflections from Morrison herself, but also has interviews with Hilton Als, Angela Davis, Fran Lebowitz, Walter Mosley, Sonia Sanchez and Oprah Winfrey. The film includes original music by Kathryn Bostic, a specially created opening sequence by artist Mickalene Thomas and evocative works by other contemporary African American artists.

Opioids, Inc (10 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) - Frontline examines the drugmaker Insys, producer of a fast-acting fentanyl-based spray that is 50 to 100 times stronger than heroin and which is linked to hundreds of deaths. A report found that the company pushed opioids and made millions for Wall Street investors by bribing doctors and committing insurance fraud. This episode of Frontline is the result of a joint investigation with the Financial Times.

HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel (10 p .m., HBO) - The latest episode examines how systemic racial injustice and the COVID-19 pandemic have converged to create an unprecedented moment in sports.
