Young Sheldon (8 p.m., CBS) - In the Season 5 premiere, Sheldon and Missy both run away from home, and Mary gets upsetting news about George Sr.

United States of Al (8:30 p.m., CBS) - In the Season 2 opener, Al, Riley, Art, Lizzie and Vanessa work together against a ticking clock to get Al’s sister out of Afghanistan and to safety after Kabul falls.

Ghosts (9 p.m., CBS) - This new CBS comedy series, inspired by the BBC comedy “Horrible Histories,” has a group of misfit — and very funny — ghosts from various time periods all haunting a young couple who have recently inherited a creepy old house. Rose McIver plays Samantha, who wants to turn the house into a bed and breakfast, while Utkarsh Ambudkar is her husband, Jay, who isn’t quite sold. But then a freak accident makes it so that Samantha can see and hear the ghosts there, and she has to figure out how to life with them. (Also, you can watch “Horrible Histories” right now on HBO Max.)

Bull (10 p.m., CBS) - In the Season 6 premiere, Bull and the TAC team must call upon all of their collective experience to locate Bull’s kidnapped daughter. Bull begins to suspect the captor is someone connected to his past.
