What to Watch Saturday: Shannen Doherty stars in a Lifetime classic movie remake

Dying to Belong (8 p.m., Lifetime) - A remake of the classic 1997 Lifetime film, “Dying to Belong” tells the story of journalism major Olivia (Favour Onwuka), who meets Riley (Jenika Rose), a shy freshman who suffers from anxiety, and the two become fast friends. Riley, whose mother Katherine (Shannen Doherty) was a legacy Pi Gamma Beta, decides to rush in hopes of following Katherine’s footsteps and is ecstatic when Olivia joins her. Sensing the opportunity to go undercover to write a story about hazing practices, Olivia soon discovers there are deadly secrets involved in being part of the “sisterhood.” The original 1997 film starred Hilary Swank, Sarah Chalke, Jenna von Oÿ and Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

South Beach Love (9 p.m., Hallmark) - This new Hallmark movie is a story about rivals, glorious Cuban cooking, friendship, family ties and romance.

Justin Bieber: Our World (Amazon Prime) - This concert documentary takes viewers backstage, onstage and into the private world of Justin Bieber as he prepares for his record-breaking New Year’s Eve 2020 concert. After a three-year hiatus from a full concert, Bieber delivers an electrifying performance on the rooftop of the Beverly Hilton Hotel for 240 invited guests — and millions of fans across the globe watching via livestream. The 94-minute documentary follows Bieber and his team for the month leading up to the show as they rehearse and construct a monumental stage set. The film also captures personal self-shot moments between Bieber and his wife Hailey through the artist’s own lens.

Saturday Night Live (11:30 p.m., NBC) - Kim Kardashian West hosts and Halsey performs.

Austin City Limits (12:30 a.m., PBS NC) - Singer-songwriter Jade Bird plays tunes from her album “Different Kinds of Light,” and Sloan Struble, aka Dayglow, performs songs from “Harmony House.”
