What to Watch Thursday: Insurrection anniversary specials, new Emmett Till series
Women of the Movement (8 p.m., ABC) - This new limited series is based on the true story of Emmett Till (played by Cedric Joe) and his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley (Adrienne Warren). In the premiere episode, Mamie faces her worst nightmare when her son goes missing. She receives a call saying her son was kidnapped, so she rallies her community to help bring her son home.
Let the World See (10 p.m., ABC) - Following “Women of the Movement,” a new documentary series examines Mamie Till-Mobley’s fight to bring her son’s body home to Chicago after his brutal murder, and her decision to have an open-casket funeral for the public to see -- which ultimately served as a turning point for the civil rights movement. This airs for the next two Thursday nights.

Preserving Democracy: Pursuing a More Perfect Union (10 p.m., PBS NC) - A new documentary narrated by Tamara Tunie examines the pursuit of democracy within our nation and others, addressing political divisiveness and regression as well as progress – from the birth of the U.S. to the domestic assault on the Capitol complex and its aftermath.
Indivisible: Healing Hate (Paramount+) - A six-part investigative documentary series narrated by Mandy Patinkin traces the origins of anti-government extremism and how it built on a deadly series of historical events over decades to culminate in the violent storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th 2021. The first episode is available today.
