New England Patriots Rookie Quintayvious Hutchins Charged With Domestic Assault
New England Patriots rookie Quintayvious Hutchins was arrested and charged with domestic violence on Tuesday, May 12, after an alleged incident in a dorm room at Boston College.
The 2026 NFL Draft pick was arraigned on Wednesday, May 13, and pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic assault and battery on a family/household member in Newton District Court in Massachusetts, according to documents viewed by Us Weekly.
Hutchins, 23, played his entire college career at Boston College before the Patriots selected him in the seventh round of the 2026 draft in April.
"We are aware of the report involving Quintayvious Hutchins," the team said in a statement released Wednesday. "We take these matters very seriously and are in the process of gathering additional information. We will not have further comment at this time."
According to a police report obtained by WBZ, police were called to a Boston College residence hall when Hutchins allegedly grabbed a woman by the neck in front of several witnesses. One witness added that she heard a male and female arguing and that they witnessed Hutchins "push" the alleged victim.
Police say when they arrived, they found a ceiling tile and clothing belonging to Hutchins on the floor. The alleged victim insisted she was okay and that "nothing happened." She also said she was not interested in pursuing a restraining order and did not want her neck photographed.
The alleged argument took place in the hallway and involved Hutchins accusing the victim of cheating on him, the witness told police. She added that the linebacker began choking the woman but stopped short of saying he was strangling her, instead describing it as using a firm grip while Hutchins tried to tell his side of the story.
The pair then allegedly retreated to the dorm room where the victim began throwing Hutchins' clothes into the hallway while Hutchins yelled at her.
Us has reached out to Hutchins' attorney for comment.
Hutchins' arrest comes one week after former Patriots star Stefon Diggs was found not guilty of assault and strangulation stemming from an alleged altercation with his former personal chef. The chef, Mila Adams, alleged in court that Diggs, 32, "took his arm and he came around my neck and put his elbow around my neck. He began to choke me, [put] pressure on my neck."
"He came in intent to hurt me," she added. "He was leaning against the dresser. He asked me to get up to come here. I got up off the bed and I came across to him. I stood in front of him, I stood on the side of him as he was leaning back. And he was like, ‘What was all that s*** you was talking?'"
A jury deliberated for approximately 90 minutes on May 5 before returning with its verdict.
