Dr. Arnold Herbert Edward Grandage "Dick"

Friends and family of Dr. Arnold Herbert Edward Grandage (Dick) sadly said goodbye to him on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.

Dick was born on November 12, 1918 in Springfield, Massachusetts.He was predeceased by his parents, Mae and Herbert Grandage; and his sister, Constance Schuler.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Dorothy Beishline Grandage; his daughter, Joan Hudson of Fairview, NC; and his son, Richard Leigh Grandage and wife Donna of Charlottesville VA.

He was a professor of statistics at North Carolina State University for more than 30 years and was instrumental in setting up the computer lab on campus in Patterson Hall. After retirement, he enjoyed sailing and was a consummate reader. He and Dorothy moved from Raleigh, NC to Bloomsburg PA, Charlottesville VA, Harrisonburg, VA and finally to Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain, NC.
