Jerry Robbin Young
Jerry Robbin Young, 67, of Kittrell, went to be with the Lord after a 2 ½ year battle with leukemia surrounded by his family, Wednesday February 18, 2015 at Rex Hospital. He was born in Wake County to the late Johnny Lassiter Young, Sr. and Annie Willie Bridges. Mr. Young was a lifelong member of Oak Level Christian Church and anytime they had a function involving food you would find Jerry right in the middle of it all cooking and serving. He and his wife also enjoyed pulling their travel trailer to the beach to fish and relax. Mr. Young was a retired property manager from The Carlyle Group and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning February 21, 2015 at Oak Level Christian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 49 years, Stacie Lee Young; daughter, Lisa Young Thayer and husband Charlie of Franklinton; grandchildren, Jimmy Massey, Jr. & wife Brittney of Raleigh, Justin Lee Massey of Raleigh, Alyssa Cheyann Thayer of Franklinton, Jordan Elizabeth Thayer of Roxboro and Jessica Danielle Thayer of Roxboro; great-grandchildren, Brenleigh Violet Massey and Allyson Grace Thayer; sister, Jeanette Edwards & husband Kenneth of Franklinton; brothers, Henry “Butch” Young of Youngsville and Terry Robert Young of Franklinton; mother-in-law, Leona “Trudy” Scarboro of Kittrell; special friend, Teresa Perry of Youngsville; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert W. Young and Johnny L. Young, Jr.
