Rosa Lee Congleton O'Neal

Rosa Lee Congleton O’Neal, 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving and caring family. Rosa Lee was born in Johnston County on December 23, 1925 to the late James Henry Congleton and Polly Ann Richardson Congleton. She was married for 68 years to the late James Nelson O’Neal who preceded her in death on October 17, 2011. She was active in the Corinth Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and Corinth Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Rosa Lee was devoted to her family and friends and was a wonderful homemaker and cook. In addition to her parents and husband Rosa Lee was preceded in death by sons: Danny Nelson O’Neal and Larry Nelson O’Neal; brothers: James and Charles Congleton.

Funeral service 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Corinth Baptist Church, 13450 NC Hwy 96, Zebulon, 27597. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545.

Surviving: daughters: Sandra O. Temple (Terry) of Wendell, Susie O. Peoples (Mike) of Zebulon; daughter-in-law, Carol E. O’Neal of Zebulon; grandchildren: Michael O’Neal (Jeany), Susan Fergus (Bill), Andi Barton (Charlie), Shane Richardson, Kevin Richardson (Tina); great-grandchildren: Lauren O’Neal, Camden Barton, Avery Fergus, Griffin Barton, Cassel Fergus, Keller Fergus, Carter Seese, Ayden Seese; brother, A. B. Congleton (Betty) of Raleigh; sister, Frances C. Croom of Zebulon; a host of special nieces, nephews, friends and caregiver, Paulette O’Neal.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
