Ted Williams: The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived (9 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) -- This American Masters profile looks at the many sides of Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Ted Williams (Boston Red Sox), including his relationships with his Mexican-American family, the press and fans.

The War to Be Her (10 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) -- A POV documentary about a girl who disguises herself as a boy to be able to play sports freely in Waziristan (Pakistan). When her identity is revealed, she faces death threats and must leave the country.

Elementary (10 p.m., CBS) -- Holmes and Watson investigate the disappearance of a young woman who led a double life as a financial dominatrix.
