2 in Raleigh took indecent liberties with young girls, police charge
Police arrested two men on the same day in separate cases involving multiple sex offenses with girls as young as 5 years old.
Furmencio Miranda-Cortazar, 44, was arrested Saturday night at an apartment complex om Fox Manor Ridge Road. He lives on Bunche Drive.
According to arrest warrants, Miranda-Cortazar engaged in first-degree sex offense with a child and took indecent liberties with the same girl from October 2007 through November 2015. She was 5 years old at the start, police said Monday.
From 2015 through this May, an arrest warrant states, Miranda-Cortazar took indecent liberties with a second girl who was under 16.
Police charged Gutierrez-Cervantes with eight counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of statutory sex offense with a child.
Police listed the name as Cervantez Gutierrez, but a notice from federal immigration authorities saying they suspect he is in the country illegally from Mexico list his last names as Gutierrez-Cervantes.
Magistrates ordered Gutierrex Cevantes held in lieu of $1.5 million bail and set Miranda-Cortazar’s bail at $2 million.
