Bulls fall to Indians in series finale
The Durham Bulls had just two hits and struck out 13 times as they fell to Indianapolis 9-0 on Tuesday at the DBAP. Indianapolis takes the series 2-1 with the win.
Daniel Robertson extended his hitting streak for Durham (10-10) to seven games with a single in the fifth inning. Kyle Roller also extended his on-base streak to 13 games for the Bulls with a walk in the seventh.
Adam Wilk (0-2) suffered the loss for the Bulls and had six strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched. Top Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Tyler Glasnow (1-1) earned the win for Indianapolis (10-7) with two hits, one walk and 11 strikeouts.
The Indians clubbed four home runs in the ninth, before infielder Cameron Seitzer came in to pitch and got a groundout and strikeout to end the inning.
Indianapolis infielder Jung-Ho Kang went 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs and a home run to lead the Indians at the plate. Kang is rehabbing a knee injury suffered last year with the Pirates, when he finished third in the National League Rookie of the Year voting.
