If your kid is a fashionista in training, this Summer of Style camp is just for them
Durham stylist and author April Clark knows a little something about fashion. She has written several books on beauty and style, and she’s been featured on "The Wendy Williams Show" and in People Style Watch magazine for her style blog and Instagram account, What Would April Wear?
And this summer, she shares her expertise with budding fashionistas at the Summer of Style camp at Crabtree Valley Mall from July 12-Aug. 16.
The camp meets every Thursday for one hour, with one session for campers ages 8-12 from 11 a.m.-noon, and a second for those ages 13-18 from 1-2 p.m.
Attendees will learn about fashion retail, styling and show production, as well as entrepreneurship and confidence-building techniques. The camp culminates with a fashion show on Aug. 16 featuring products created by campers. Campers are invited to arrive to their sessions 15 minutes early for a bonus fashion activity.
Summer of Style camp is free, but attendees must register by July 10 by emailing marketing@shopcrabtree.com. Email should include parent name, student name, age of student, preferred email and phone number. For more information on Miss April's Summer of Style, visit crabtree-valley-mall.com/summer-style.
